The Carterton Educational Trust
Our Mission
“To provide financial support and grant aid to ensure that all people within the Carterton area, whatever their economic circumstances or physical and mental abilities, are able to participate in educational events and activities or experiences.”
The Carterton Educational Trust was formed in 1994 when a constitution was adopted and five influential figures accepted the position of Patron. These Patrons were not simply ‘figureheads’, but were prominent people actively concerned with the town of Carterton and very much in favour of the aims of the Trust.
Former Patron, Lord Douglas Hurd, gave us tremendous support many years ago to increase our funds, and David Cameron, in his role as Witney MP, attended a number of our meetings to show his active support.
Details of our current Patrons are shown on our About Us page.
